Signs That Your AC System Needs Repairs

Basic Work of an Air Conditioning System

Before we move to Air Conditioner services that Hill Country Repairs provides, let’s find out the basic work of an AC system. 

An air conditioner basically, collects hot air from your room and delivers cool air inside the room. During this process, the Air Conditioner uses several parts as Evaporator, Compressor, Condenser, Expansion Valve, and Refrigerant.

Cooling Process

The unit outside your home is called condenser, which has a compressor, a condenser coil, and a fan inside. It pumps cool refrigerant to an evaporator coil, located either in the air purifier or directly outside the furnace. The evaporator coil gets very cold, and when the furnace pushes warm air past it the air gets cool. This cool air is then given to your home within a range of air ducts. Heat is received by the evaporator coil, which warms the refrigerant flowing through the coils. This warm refrigerant is then pumped back into the condenser coil, where a fan cools it down, escaping warm air. This cycle will be in progress until it achieves the desired temperature you’d set on your thermostat.

Heating Process

In electric systems, the air purifier includes an electric heater, that uses electricity to provide heat. Air handler’s fans blow air by the heater to warm it up and then spread the warm air into your home. 

In natural gas systems, the electric heater is replaced by a furnace. The pilot light in the furnace lights the burner inside of a combustor, which creates heat in the furnace’s exchanger. An air gets warmer passing by the heat exchanger through the ducts into your home.
